I am looking for Sven Pruett's book on the Ford v6s, and can't find it anywhere. I have searched the net, every book store, and even on here. Can't find it for the life of me. Help me out guys.

last i knew the book was out of print and the cds that were selling on ebay were bootleg and they canceled the auctions. they do come up time to time here. have you checked amazon?

Basically you can't get any version unless you are extremely lucky, in which case you should be playing the lottery rather than building a V6 (you'd probably have a better chance at the lottery). If you can find the right people you may be able to get a copy of the CD, but I doubt it and they sure ain't gonna advertise it. Having had the opportunity to browse over it myself it's not much use unless you're building a racing engine, so I wouldn't worry over being able to find a copy.

i didn't really pay that much attention to it. i had a cd copy from a yard sale a few years ago. but i have no idea where it went. i think i give it away to another member on the old board (before we had premium memberships and found out it was bootleg).

I used to have a cut/paste rant about that book on hand for when people asked about it. I can't find the rant.

It's not a good book because the title is bad. The title should read "How to Build Modify and Tune Your 2.8 While Rendering it Illegal for Street Use."

It's about modifying the 2.8 and running an aftermarket carb on it. He doesn't like fuel injection. It's useless unless you are building a 2.8 with an aftermarket carb.

I'm amazed by the amount people will spend on that book. I've seen them go for over $100 on Ebay.

People have argued that the book is worth owning for the alleged templates for porting your heads. I say--bullshit. You'll kill your heads if you hold that book up and start grinding on them. They are suggestions for someone with experience and hopefully a flow bench.

A better book is Charles Probst's fuel injection book. That's where a modern engine tuner starts.
