I am looking at buying a 2001 ford ranger has almost everything I want to do already done the rest I can do at school "attending auto mechanics". There is one problem though it is a auto trans and I plan on doing some performance driving with this "prerunner" in the future and I would like to know would it be harder to do a full conversion over too a stick or just put a shift kit and a slap shifter on the auto. I like having the auto with the slap shifter because driving a stick 24/7 can get a bit annoying. Any information will be very helpful.
