AT&T finally unlocked the MMS on the iPhone. I got my update at about 13:00 Eastern time.

I know it has been unlocked on all phones in the past. I am kinda excited that the iPhone is one step closer to being tethered in the U.S.

is that for the iPhone 3g or the iPhone 3G S? im hoping you mean the regular 3g lol, im tired of not being able to send or recieve pictures.

Both the 3G and the 3GS.

You get the update through iTunes.

ive been able to theather so far but the 3.1 upgrade before the mms update wont allow that. but its not far off from being legal through att

no it's not unlocked but before 3.1 you could theather but not after modmyi.com is a big iPhone iPod etc page that might have some info on theathering.

I have the 3.1 software, but AT&T locks it out since they don't allow it yet.

yea I figured that's the case I heard somewhere AT&T was wanting to charge like over 50 per mnth for theathering when it's available. but I don't know if it was a rumor or what.
