there are some people on this site that have some mad welding skills:icon_welder:
Some of us are ingenuitive. i thought it would be nice for a thread for the welders/fabricators of this site to show off their ideas, and completed projects.plans for stuff completed... etc.

first for me is my welding cart

i saw a guy selling a computer desk at a yard sale on my way home from work, it was all metal. i thought with a few changes it would be adequate for a welder cart. He wanted 10$,I offered 4$ he said 5$ i said sold.

got it home

i removed the tiny wheels, flipped the top shelf, and made some inch long welds on the top to keep the shelf from letting go from too much weight as it was only wrapped around the support bar.

i then messaged another shelf with my baby sledge hammer, then welded it in
on the bottom shelf i welded an extra support bar almost in the mid point, so i can weld in a bar to help chain my shield gas cylinder to. i welded the chain for the argon tank to the side

i then went to harbor freight and bought some large caster wheels welded them to the bottom. i then got some rattle can paint

i placed the welder on the top and found the door hit the side of the shelf so i welded some metal spacers on to the shelf where the welders pegs are.

so instead of a 50-60$ welder that you have to bend over to adjust things while you weld.

i got one for 25$ and it sits at a decent height. oh and that tank was empty for fabrication and i was using flux core.

i then made a few things for my wife and mom for mothers day

the dragon flies are telephone pole nails with sheet metal for wings welded on a rod and wall nails for antennae

the flower is a veggie steamer on a metal rod and dollar store serving spoons

I also cut out walleye and bass designs for my mom, she loves the fish patterns.

I excelled my knowledge from my company, L&M Radiator. Check out just a few of the things we build.
http://www.mesabi.com/prod_engradiator.php

The tubes are held in by rubber grommets rather than a solid solder joint, able to absorb lots of vibrations.

Pretty much how it works is, you send in the broken radiator, we take precise measurements, put it into a draft/blueprint form, build it, paint it, and ship it. Plus, it's all saved on file for future models.

Had one co-worker even make one for his Joker(I think it's an old hotrod).

When you have access to a welder, the sky's the limit!:icon_thumby:
