I believe I should get a new filter as well along with some mercon five to replace the fluid lost from dropping the pan. But I had some more questions.

I received my Transgo kit today. And I was briefly going over the instructions. It shows 4 plastic balls in the valve body. Do they just do that so that you know where they go incase you drop them? Also, the rings that they give you, are they easy to install as well??? ANd it mentioned things to do with 1st band, 2nd band, etc. I guess I'm not down with the trans lingo. I'm doing this with the trans still in the truck so any help would be great. While I am a typical backyard mechanic, I have always been afraid to dive into transmissions, but I think there's always a first for everything. Thanks in advance guys!

I also had a question where in the instructions it mentions to cross drill in that one spot. Does it matter at what angle its drilled? Is all it needs is a little hole drilled there and thats it??? Thanks for any help.

No, disassemble trans for that. No big deal if you don't install those.

It's O/D band ( very front ) , intermediate band ( middle ) and low /rev band( very rear )
