Put in 2000 exploder buckets and a 1994 exploder center console. Also put in an Autoguage tach.

Center console down to floor.

The project took two weekends to complete. Got the lumbar support working this weekend. The seats are much more supportive than the stock vinyl bench. I also hacked a 3mm stereo output jack into the stock tape deck and I will be wiring an output jack into the center console for my Mp3 player. I am also going to find some exploder double sun visors and a map light assembly. That will top off the package quite nicely I think.:D

looks good man i need some explorer seats like that

Looks good, like it was made for it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It was a bit of work getting everything set up but well worth the effort. Now after a long trip I don't have to wait 3 minutes to be able to straighten my back out to walk:bawling:. Those stock vinyl seat were really killing my back.

What did you have to do to mount the Explorer Seats in the Std Cab ?

I looked at some and it get a little confusing ?

do you have any pics of what was in the Ranger vs what was in the explorer ?

Thanks

I had to remove the tracks from the explorer seats because they will not fit the floor pan in my 99. Then I had to remove the tracks from my original seats and drill out 6 rivets to remove the seat back pivot bracket and the seat cushion mounting tabs. I also had to drill two new holes in the original track on the upper portion (part the seat bolts to) so I could mount the seat to the track. Figuring the process out was hellish at best. The first seat (passenger side) took about 6 hours to figure out the process and what needed to be done, the drivers side took about an hour and a half. I am pleased with the result and would recommend the swap to anyone because most stock Ranger seats really suck.

Thoughts are brewing in my melon..................:clapping:
