clutch master cylinder not working.

well it was working a few days ago, i ended up needing a clutch line, got that order and recieved it today, put it on and now im not getting any fluid through the master cylinder. is there a way to revive it or do i just have to bite the bullet again and buy a new one??

You prolly have to bleed it. When I changed my clutch, my truck had that no leak hydraulic hose like yours does. I still had to bleed it and when nothing came out...ever, I just put it back together. I had to pump the pedal up to get the clutch to engage. Everytime I pushed the clutch with a 10 minute break in between I had to pump it up. Until one day I noticed I didnt have to pump it no more.

No tellin with these dang things. I would check your haynes for bleedin procedures, If that dont work I would retrace my steps from changing the lineand see if I missed anything. Did the line get securely locked into the transmission?

i read the bleeding proceedures on here in the tech library. even had my laptop in the garage goin step by step. i pumped the peddle for about 5 min. took a break 5 min. again took a break. did this for like a half hour and nothing. even tried this with the bleeder screw open and not a drop of fluid. im not getting any pressure at all.

LOL mine did that too. Someone posted about my issue (which was similar) in the transmission section about 9-10 months ago, they told me a way to dismount the the master cylinder to tilt it and allow any caught up air out. I didnt follow it as the more I pumped hte pedal the better my pressure got.

When you mounted the new line, you didnt put any fluid in it did you? Your gonna have to find a way to force the fluid down into the new hose. Im thinkin that you have about 3ft of air in the line, and without a second person continually pouring fluidin while you bleed, dont think the air will bleed out normally. In the morning some smarter people should come around who have done what you have done and might have some helpful tips. Im at the extent of my knowlege as Ive never changed the lines before.

Are you trying to bleed the master on flat ground? If my memory is still with me, I think you have to get the nose of the truck tilted up so it is higher than the back of the truck. IIRC, the more steep of an angle you can tilt the front of the truck, the easier it is to bleed the master. Its been awhile since I have talked to anyone about this procedure, so i'm not a hundred percent sure if this is right. Im sure if im wrong, someone here will correct this misinformation and me. HTH.

stupid question, but did you remove the diaphragm when you added the fluid? a lot of people end up just filling up the diaphragm instead of the master cylinder...

^^^^This is prolly what I did, and the reason I slowly got pressure back.
