Just a quick question and then maybe more detail later based on the answer.
Someone on a mitsubishi forum is looking to swap in a starion/conquest 2.6l Turbo engine into a 4x4 Montero with a 2.6l carbed. They want a 5speed but the 5speed in his truck isn't reliable with the near double power output. The b2600 came with the same 2.6l and the bell housing match. The rx-7 trans is also a 5speed and MUCH more reliable. But, the mitsu transfer case is driver's drop and the mazda is passenger's drop.... What transfercases, if any, swap and are they driver's drop? They are also wondering if the stock mitsu x-case can work (1" 23-spline input)?
