i have a 90 ford ranger 5sp. 6" sus 3" body with 34"s and a 2.9 with 4:56 gears. im question is when im driving down the road it falls flat on its face then just like that i will catch. 1st and 2nd are fine its when i get it into 3rd its like there nothing there from a stand still. i know i should just take it out and put a 302 or a 5.0 svt motor in it. does anyone know whats up with that?

I got alot more power out of mine after a full tune up but your pushin 34's and thats alot of weight for any v-6..are you able to get up to 50 because i always thought that if i could get up to 50 and maintain speed thats all you need.

i shaif at like 2500 3000 every time and i can hit 85 with my ranger its scary but i can. and i have a full tune up, i just did it not to long ago, old change spark plug fuel fiter, air cleaner and tb cleaning.

I'm really confused..

So once you get into 3rd gear, you have no power at all?
But, you can hit 85?

about what? im thinking that my cluch is sliping when i nail the gas.

yeah i dont now its getting ready bad i just had about 500lbs in the bed and when i lug into it theres nothing.
