Hey, i know this thread seems more for engine swaps, but still seems a better option to post... I remeber reading a thread already but dont remember where it was. i thought engine cleaning would be kinda pointless, but i just experience a engine coolant leak that covered everything under hood, assuming previous owner had that radiator sealant goo crap. i would just like to clean it up a lil bit but wanted to know the proper steps... should i just cover air intake, alternator, battery, and ignition components? and use a hose with degreaser? plz help !!

cover the intake, and anything around the injectors. get some engine gunk, spray the engine down. brissle brush it a little. and hose it down CAREFULLY. no need to cover the alternator of the battery. just use the hose on a light setting, ( dont squeeze the handle so much) and start the engine up immediatley after and let it run. take your time and it will be fine. i do it all the time.
