Soon I plan on putting a flip kit on my 97 2.3 2wd ranger. I have duals going over the axle and straight out the back. The pipes only get hit right now if I go fast over a really bad bump. So my question would be, when I install the flip kit, will my exhaust be ok or will it get hit repeatedly until it gets kinked from the rear?
The one pipe goes right over the pumpkin, thats the one that gets hit sometimes

hack it up. Remember...the housing it going to be 5" upward from where it is now.

^Yea I might have to....but i love my duals, they sound so good straight piped :)

Yeah, you'll hit...a lot. A flip will leave less than 2" of travel before the snubbers get whacked, which leaves your pipes banging.

Re-route them under the axle and you should be OK for body travel, but a lot less road clearance.

OK, I just looked at your pics in another thread. As long as the pipes are above the frame snubbers directly over the axle, you should be OK.

snubbers = bumpstops?

he says he hit's 'em now.....which would make me believe the pipes are below the bumpstops..... that axles gonna get moved up about 5", then add for suspension uptravel...it WILL hit.

i said it hits the one pipe that goes over the center pumpkin, it never has hit the bumpstops. It only has flipped shackles right now
