after carpet removeal question

I pulled my carpet out because it was mildewed and couldnt bee cleaned. Truck had a leak around windshield and been in deep water crossing a few times. I pulled the carpet out and the floor is hot. Was thinking about a roll on liner. Will that help insulate the heat? Was also thinking about putting a rubber mat across the cab area. Kinda like the rubber floor in the old base models. What about heat wrap around the manifold and y pipe? Funds are low. On reduced hours at day job and using the BII to deliver Pizzas on the weekends. Feet getting a little warm. What have you guys and good luck with?

not sure how much it is, but you can get replacement carpet.

otherwise, i would assume that you could use heat paint (made for motors or exhaust manifolds and such)

i know duplicolor makes a heat paint

also, roll in liner material should work. but not exactly sure.

replacement carpet is about $150. I plan on getting it wet inside again so that wont work. Found a Jeep forum that said the roll on or spray on bed liner will cut the heat from the floor. Just need to prep the floor good to make it stick.

yeah get a herculiner kit. its under 100 bucks at most auto parts stores. just scuff and degrease the floor well before rolling.

There is something like isulation glued on the floor. It is hard and about 1/8 thick. Should I try to get that off or just roll over it?

it's probably padding or insulation, i'm not exactly sure.

try to get it up... if it doesn't peel up, wait for someone here to let you know of a chemical/technique that can get it up.

you want to be down to metal.
not sure if you need to be down to bare metal though. i know it has to be clean and scuffed up for proper adhesion.

That stuff on the floor is heat and sound insulation. Removing it will not help you in your fight against heat. Just roll over it.
