hey does anyone kno if a 96 mustang 3.8 transmission will bolt up to a 93 ranger motor?

Will not bolt up to the 3.0 motor. The mustang trans has the Ford small block pattern and the 3.0 is unique to itself

I can catagorically state that mid-90's RWD 3.8's DO NOT have a Windsor
bellhousing pattern.

I have a 91 Suercoupe trans and it WILL NOT bolt to a 302, believe me I tried.

But I can also state that the trans he has won't bolt to a Ranger 3.0 either.

The 3.0's ALL have the same bellhousing, the FWD 3.8's were built on blocks
that used the same pattern.

The RWD 3.8's? early I don't know, but I know that the '91-up 3.8's
have a different from windsor bell pattern.

It may well have a Modular bolt pattern, I don't, I don't have a
modular block to compare the trans to...

Everything I have ever read about the Canadian Essex 3.8L RWD says that it has the Windsor bellhousing pattern, but is metric thread. The 3.8, 3.9 and 4.2L are the same block and have the same Windsor bellhousing pattern.

I've read the same things but the '91 Supercoupe manual trans I have
sitting here won't bolt up to a 5.0 block.

you are welcome to come here and try...

I got this transmission because I believed what I'd read
(same shit you did obviously) because I thought would be
an elegant and neat way to make a 5.0 ranger without
farting around with conversion of the truck to a cable clutch
or conversion of a T-5 to hydraulic OR putting an F-150
M5OD-R2 transmission in a Ranger...

Basically that trans NOT fitting ended my attempt to put a
5.0HO into a 2wd Ranger

I junked the truck and sold the engine.

Still have that supercoupe trans...
