130 AMP alternator

Have 1985 Bronco II installed 2000 4.0 Explorer motor with 130 amp alternator want to use my stock gauge. Old 2.6 had 30 amp alternator, any one know what size resistor or shunt I should use to keep from frying the gauge.

im running a 130 on my 94 also, and originally it had a 95 amp but i didnt do anything to the gauge and it works fine (if you count the needle being in the middle fine). im also running an autometer gauge to give me an accurate reading since the stock gauges leave alot to be desired.
 
Changing the shunt won't help the ammeter.

Worry about frying the wires

Might I suggest switching your dash wiring to that from an '86-88 with a Tach and eliminating the stock ammeter?

Because frankly I don't ee anything close to a happy ending with trying to keep the stock ammeter.

As for your alternator I really doubt it was a 30amp, I've never seen
anything smaller than a 45Amp alt on a Ranger.

Being realistic, Stock 55w headlamps alone draw 9amps (for the pair)
