Right now I am using my Dad's hydraulic jacks, and would like to get some of my own.

What is the opinion on NAPA jacks? I would like some good jacks to do most purposes, can anyone recommend a brand, and what sizes do I need to do most work, on the Ranger, lift a Mobile home trailer, fix a flat tire, support a transmission in the vehicle..etc.

Right now this is the sizes I am looking at:

2 ton bottle

4 ton bottle

12 ton shorty bottle

and a 3 1/2 ton floor jack.

Non hydraulics: a HI-Lift jack, and a long screw Jack. (maybe a scissors Jack?)

Can anyone recommend a brand/business that sells the best? NAPA, Autozone, carquest, O'Riley's, Rual King, Wal-Mart, etc....I can't afford snap-on.

My Dad has some cheap Jacks(had them over twenty years) and they are wearing out!, leaking/buggered up release screw/play in the jack mechanism))

I have a harbor frieght aluminum 1.5 ton for cars and such, and ooold el cheapo steel 3 ton for trucks and a 12 ton omega air over hydraulic for anything big.....have had the 12 ton for about 6 yrs and I had to replace the release screw once..my fault was $20 at a local hydraulic shop..

I've had decent luck with my $50 harbor freight 3 ton, it's THIS GUY

we have a big Napa jack at work, it seems to be pretty nice

Avoid Napa bottleneck jacks, the regular floor jacks are not too bad though.

I've had pretty good luck with Harbor Freight hydro jacks, both floor and bottle. Check around online and find a coupon. You can get some pretty decent deals that way.
