has anyone ever seen a flashlight holder or clips to hold a flash light to the roof. Just thinking about making something, wondering if anyone has done this?

maglight makes mounts. they are plastic clips that use two screw holes per clip and hold the light in pretty well. I would'nt put it on the roof though, just incase it came loose, you would'nt want a flashlight filled with d batteries flying around.

but you can get the mounts at walmart and big 5, probably online as well.

Yea i think i found one.

my friends pointed out that if it came loose off-roading it wouldn't be good.

i think i am going to mount it between the driver door and seat track. the 4 cell mag lite seems to fit well.

one last question. do you think just some self tapping screws to the floor will hold the mounts.

I'm an EMT and someone at work rigged up a homemade maglite holder with a pipe clamp and bolted it onto the side door of the ambulance. It works great, the mag light has yet to fly out. I'm not 100% sure what these pipe clamps are really called, but you get them at the plumping store and are often used on radiator hoses, simply turn a screw and it tightens down.

a hose clamp? that works, but these mounts are like less then $5 and you dont have to dig out your screwdriver to use your flashlite.

Couple zip ties around the door sill and it holds my Maglite in just fine.

i got one on Magliteoutlet.com it comes with wood screws so all i did was get some self taping screws instead. also the clips dont fit inbetween the driver seat and driver door, like i planned, there is electrical running there. i ended up putting it to the right of the center console on that hump. ill try to get some pictures. i think it turned out well.
