I'm working on a 01 Explorer trying to change out the rack. How on God's green Earth do you get it out? I can slide it through the PS frame rail till I get the tie rod out of the DS frame rail but I cannot then get it out. I must say this is a crappy design. Any Idea's? RB

That's helpful but dont tell you how to get it out of the truck once everything is unbolted. RB

I got it. I thought I would have to remove the inner tie rods but that wasn't the case. It is a tight fit and must be maneuvered just so to get it in and out. The guys on the assembly line must know just how to wiggle it to get it in fast because I dont see it as being very productive the way it's designed. RB

Also, the guys at the assembly line probably didn't have an engine, body, or front suspension in their way either.....

The key is to strip it down to the frame. Eventually, you'll remove the part that needs replacing. lol

Why do you want a rack? Is it so you wont need to relocate the oil filter? RB
