so i had to change my alternater, now my battery light is on. i replaced the battery, its still on!

on my way home i noticed my voltage gauge is really low. hit my breaks and hit my turn singles and it dies. just a click. no crank. i push started it 7 times in 5 miles!

ontop of that im still haveing codes 172 and 177 thrown. lean on right side and rich on the left. i was going to change my fuel pressure regulator this weekend. but its lookin like thats not going to happen.

should i cut my losses and part out my pile of crap explorer? ive only had it for 3 weeks. it ran great for the frist week i had it.:annoyed:

can i do i fuel pressure regulator be done without removeing the upper intake?

Sounds like your alternator still isn't charging might be a wiring or electrical problem.

it was working when the old alt was in, i had to replace it beacuse the bearings seized

I believe I read that all your truck are older than 92. They should all have voltage regulators, I would look into fixing this, Its relatively cheap. Might not be an alternator problem.

i replaced the voltage reg last nite. the battery light is off and my gauge is in between n and o on the "normal". its still not chargeing like it should but its better:icon_thumby:.

I would start checking ground wires then. Maybe even add one or two.

The gauge is a crap shoot. Take a measurement with a meter if you could. Please.

that or warrenty the alternator. I've had people come in with a bad one right out the box. Is it a duralast alternator? Valuecraft?

found the only alt from my old 92 exploder. i knew it worked. tossed it on, my battery light is on again and its staying in the N on normal. i replaced my battery beacuse mine was crap from the start. its still better but no great

Do you have any mods on your truck that would require more poawer? Have you checked for shorts in the wiring? Something that will draw on your power source but not kill it. IE radio wiring etc.
