I hope this is the right place to post this...

Several months ago, I did the full-size mod and traded the Ranger.
I picked up (ordered actually) a new '09 F250. I really wanted the manual transmission and manual transfer case combo, but with a few more amenities than an XL model provided. It's a really fun truck, and I get ridiculed all the time for going with the V8 But it tows our cattle trailer and boat well on the flatlands of Texas. Here's some pics of it if you havent seen them already.

Order Sheets

The weight ticket as it came off the lot. Nothing it it at all. Not even the owners manual!

I'm going to get it weighed again to see how much weight it gained after a toolbox, running boards, new tires, and all the other "stuff" that accumulates in a vehicle.

The day I bought it.

Real manual locking hubs instead of Auto/Lock ESOF ones
ESOF vs MSOS

The shifters for the ZF6 transmission and the NVG 271 transfer case.

Ford 10.5" Rear Axle (4.10LS)

Dana 60 Front Axle (4.10)

Here's the dash layout at night (in engineering mode to show various lights)

Daytime shot

I swapped the middle "20" section from the 40|20|40 split bench for the nicer center console.

And actually take this behemoth out in the pasture from time to time. No, this is not a rig for any kind of tight trail, but it is fun to find some sand and mud around dried up ponds.

Thanks for looking. :icon_cheers:

Well that should pull about anything with granny low and 4low. You might have to place stakes in the ground to see if your moving but I bet it will pull like crazy.

why do you get ridiculed for buying the V8? its nice but i really hate how new cars have huge center consoles and you cant buy your own radio and install it

My dad just got a '04 F-250 with the 2V 5.4, we haven't pulled anything with it yet but it scoots right along by itself. He bought it as a service truck (it has utility box and tommy lift on it) so towing a lot wasn't really high on his list anyay.

It is amazing what power the extra weight and 4R100 trans in dads truck robs though, my 5.4 F-150 with 3.31 gears would take it in a race. It has 3.73 gears so it would probably out tow me though... and it should.

Kind of funny, around here used diesels are easy to find for a decent price, used gas burners are getting hard to come by. I think people are coming to terms with what they need vs what is fancier than the neighbors.
