any one know the best thing to cut spot welds out with. I am working on rebuilding a 1966 ford mustang:icon_welder:

a drill bit and a case of good beer. o ya and a drill to use the bit. or maybe screw it and jsut drink the beer

There are spot weld cutters

spot welds

But they are expensive and dull quickly. On my 72 stang I ended up just used a regular drill bit and then an air chisel to separate the panels.

PLASMA CUTTER lmao :) but you probly didnt need to here that...yea man seriously a drill bit...several drill bits actually and a good strong drill

I got mine at NAPA, like this one:
spot welds

to save drill bit, first, drill a pilot hole using a smaller drill bit, then go up the a bigger size. might take awhile, but you wont be spending 6-8 buck per drill bit.

I second the dewalt bits. They work awesome!

okay thats good there is a lot of spot welds on this mustang so hope to get it restored soon.

Also restoring 66 mustang here, and I use the spot weld bit like in post #6 :)
