So the other day while putting my normal sized arm on my armrest, it fell off. It has cracked earlier but now it is off the hinge. How does it go back in? I feel that if I just slam it, it will just break again. Is there a more finesse method?

Duct tape and zip ties?

I was thinking about putting it back on the bolt, but I don't know how without breaking the plastic more.

looks to me like there are screws on the bottom of that arm rest. I would start there. Maybe that plastic will come away from that vinal and you can attatch it to the base. Then you can just screw the vinal arm pad back onto the plastic part.

Just seems like thats the only way it would come apart. Not sure though as I don't own one like this. I do know someone who does though and they have even replaced this armrest because I guess they are prone to cracking in the middle. I'll see what kind of info I can get out of him and get back with you.

Good luck in the meantime,

tear it out, fabricate a stronger one. and post it in the tech library :)

The plastic "guts" of the armrest is broken.

That's the one with the "pop-out" cupholder for the back seat passengers?

If so I've got one of them that's on it's bracket (it isn't broken)
You need it?

the bolt doesn't work like toilet paper holder...it's the one part of the armrest that is sturdy. i will have to try to disassemble it and reassemble it to see if it works. if that doesn't work then to the design board.

big washers are your best friend.
