rear driveshaft CV joint broke, how do you fix it??

do i need a hole new driveshaft? obvioulsy its not u joints, look like a gear, what do i need to fix it and how har is it??
 
A reman CV shaft will run about 90 if your stock and plan to atay that way thats your best bet. 8 bolts and youre done.


you can look around at Jyards and hope to find a U joint shaft on a B2

depending on your trans I may have one in the garage that would fit.

Napa sells new u joint shafts for 200+
 
I have an old style rapezza style shaft laying on the floor in the garage. It's your for $10 plus shipping if you want it.

would that bolt up to my truck and what did it come off of? im debating on just getting a james duff u joint driveshaft. but at $400+ im iffy on it.

also i noticed you are from winchester, ohio, i just picked this bronco up wendsday in west union. wish i would of know that the rear driveshaft was bad..
 
i just picked up a 90 BII last weekend. The owner said the tranny was shot, but it turns out the CV joint in the rear drive shaft broke right at the pumpkin and the drive shaft was just spinning. Super easy to replace if you find one. Just 8 bolts. I had to spray the hell out of the bolts with some penetrating lube to get them to break loose to take the shaft off. I put the transfer case side on first, then the rear. You might have to use a lift or jack up the rear so you can spin the pinion if the holes dont line up (which happened in my case). I torqued the bolts down as tight as i could get with hand tools. I think recommended is like 16 ft/lbs
 
It came out of a 1989. If you have a 1990 it would fit fine.

The one in the above link is the style I have.

the duff shaft is nothing special and not worth $400

it uses standard spicer parts and 1310 or 1330 u joints

yeah, im gunna pass on it. 400 is too much. theres a local place near me that custom makes driveshafts that would make one cheaper then that.
 
if i was to lift my truck 4 inches, where do i get the driveshafts that are longer??
 
is there any chance that rear drive you have is a CV joint shaft?
 
Need a rear cv joint drive shaft for my 1990 bronco ii

i was gonna see if anyone would happen to have a rear cv joint style drive shaft for a 1990 for bronco II 4x4 with a manual trans. for sale at a reasonable price or one they may want to just give away?

You'd take them to a driveline shop and have it retubed so it's longer. If you bring them the vehicle they can figure out how long it needs to be
