The can of worms strikes again.....

I was on the highway and suddenly I got a CEL accompanied with a loss of power... this situation came and went through the 5 hour drive and then went away while driving in-town. Then when coming back got the same problem....

So I got a hold of one of those fancy computers and seems my "back pressure sensor" is reading in the mV range where it should have a higher value....

Question is.... would this mean I need to replace the sensor? or less voltage is higher backpressure and then my cats are clogged.....

BTW the codes I got were driver side O2 sensor going bad but then when clearing the code and running the computer test code went away and after that no more CEL... weird....

Anyone??? I would really appreciate the help.

The DPFE sensor is a huge problem area for Ford's. If you need it, I can try to look up the sequence for testing that code. The book is floating around my house somewhere. For what it's worth, get the Ford part for this rather than the metal body sensor you can get at the chain parts stores. It requires splicing in a new connector (the pieces come in the box) but it's more reliable than the older metal body version.

Thanks! If it's not much trouble I would really appreciate if you could send me the testing sequence; in the meantime I will get a quote for the sensor at the dealership then. Would it be the same part number as the metal version?
