i have been to a few mech and told different things so i dont know? i have oil in coolant but no coolant in oil.engine runs great but this oil is upsetting me is it intake gasket or could it be the head gaskets told it could cost up to 1000.00 to fix. if i know what to fix i can do it myself if intake gasket is it noticable when u take it apart thank you for your help

Do you have an automatic transmission? How does the ATF look?

Automatic transmissions have an ATF cooler in the radiator, and it can leak. The fix is to replace a $120 radiator....

If it's really engine oil, there are only a few places where pressurized oil is near coolant. It's not the intake....it really has to be in the heads or in the block casting itself.

Note that head gasket failures alone are not common. Always Magnaflux cast iron heads when they are removed from the vehicle (unless you can SEE a crack).

i failed to post more info on my truck 94 ranger 4.0 5 speed 4 wheel drive :icon_confused:

if you do the work yourself (where im from) its not going to cost $1,000!! i done one on my 94 for around $600 and thats includeing haveing my intake polished!! but i did the work myself and it took a while!!

The work is not hard. Just buy a service manual and go to town. Clean the engine VERY well before you start. Removing all the accessories is usually harder than getting the intake and the heads off... Well, except for the exhaust manifold bolts. If they have never been off, plan on one or two breaking. Pulling the front tires and fender wells is not necessary but makes the work MUCH easier.
