is the spring pad spacing on an 8.8 from an fx4 lvl2 truck the same as the spacing on my truck (87, 7.5) and is there anything else i should know before i go buy an axle?? i know for sure the b2 axle i swapped into my truck took some work (spring pads were spaced different)

and nobody knows....hmm, strange. i guess when my dad comes home on wednesday i will crawl under his truck and measure and compare to mine. i bet the drive shaft will have to be shorter along with a different flange?

All your questions and a good write up on the swap is covered in the Tech Library

mmm hmm, i have read through all of that. unless i have missed the things im looking for, things arent very specific. ill just have to wait and look at my dads truck when he gets home. thanks

Hmmmm.....

I'll swag it and say I thought my 8.8 was about 3 inches wider than the 7.5. Irregardless, it's not wide enough to tell the difference when it's under the vehicle.

The spring perch widths are the same for all Rangers. The axles are differents widths but not enough to be an issue. The FX4 8.8 has larger tubes than the regular 8.8, needs different U-bolts and plates.

the '93-up Ranger axles are 2" wider than the '92 and earlier axles.

All rangers have the same spring mount width.

Bronco2's have wider spacing and while still assymetrical are different
than Ranger axles.
