PSA: Texting While Driving


That was brutal!
 
In California its illegal to drive and talk on your phone but texting isnt illegal i still see people driving and talking on the phone and it pisses me off
 
Meh...back in the day I could drink a beer or ten, eat food, drive a manual trans car down a windy backroad at night while trying to cop a feel from the girl in the passenger seat and messing with the stereo. Amateurs...

in va its illegal to text and drive but you can still talk. some lady ran a light and drove into a furniture store not too long ago. she was texting. of and if you get in an accident now and you are texting you insurance is void, they wont pay for crap.
 
In NJ talking and texting are both illegal...that video gave me the chills.

here you can still text and drive on the phone all you want as long as you dont swerve or do anything stupid. my grandparents actually sent me an email today about texting and driving that was pretty crazy. i will see if i cant put it up here
 
I can't even stand to text while not driving... I know right now it wouldn't take much for me to ditch it or worse trying to find the right button.
 
I knew a guy that could drive a 5sp with his knees while rolling a joint. Not one seed or stem. Good thing we didnt have cell phones back then, he would be a mess. I did hear he was killed drinking and driving. Wife made him give up pot so he started to drink.
 
That was very grapicaly of the worst case. Baby dies, little kid is now alone, and the teen girl lost her two friends. And she will forever be at fault with that nightmare with the families of the other's sueing her (most cases).

I don't really talk on the cell phone. Well, I do, but its short calls and straight to the point. And it is done hands free on a speaker phone. Any other time, my hands are too busy working the tranny gears and steering wheel. I need all four limbs just to drive correctly. Just take one away, and driving becomes somewhat an impossible challenge.
 
I thought it a great video. Shows people what could happen. Everytime I see some one on a cell while driving it makes me wish I had train horns on my truck so I could blast it till they get off and DRIVE!
 
Even hands free devices are not a 100% answer. Some people can talk and drive without a problem while others can barely chew gum and operate a vehicle at the same time. If you're gonna start banning stuff, ban ALL distractions, including the fancy dancy headunits in new vehicles that drivers try to figure out while driving.
