Nj Lift Law question

Has anyone attempted to go through the stability testing with anything that you did a motor upgrade to? Be it a 4.0 swap or a 5.0 swap or anything and passed or had any problems with trying it? I tried to call winslow inspection today but had to leave a message so figured id ask you guys here if any one has ever attempted it. I feel that even though B2s and rangers weren't offered with a V8 if you can get it to pass emmissions it shouldnt matter what motor is under the hood. I will let yous guys know what I find out once a call back if anyone has any answered in the mean time post em up thanks.
 
I have no idea what NJ requires in "Stability testing"
but IF I had a Bronco2 with evena stock engine
I'd have a D35 under the front (it's wider than the D28)

and an explorer axle under the rear.

The easiest rout to stability on a lifted truck is increasing your trac width.

Frankly, a Bronco2 with a D35 in the front will probably be more stable
than a stock '88 would be... even if you put a 5.0 in it.

But I'd recommend a 4.0, it's a far easier install no matter if you are more worried about the electrical side or the mechanical side of the swap, but the 4.0 makes more low end torque than a 5.0 does.

And low end torque is what it's all about on an offroad vehicle.

I already understand all that info on the stability part. I am only wondering about motor swaps. I think you are only allowed to put a motor in it that was offered from the factory in that year vehicle so if you had a 92 ranger with a 2.3 you could do a 4.0 swap on it and be legal but if you had a B2 that was offered with a 2.8 or 2.9 then thats the only motor you could legally run in it under NJ's Laws. I already had a few vehicles go through stability so I understand getting it wider makes it more stabil I appreciate the info also its a good point of info for people just getting into wheeling and all. I was mainly asking because I am looking at getting a B2 with a 302 swap already done to it and was just wondering if I could legally get it through NJ's stability testing as far as having the 302 in it. But I am not that worried about it I will find a way to get it done.
 
if they really want to nit pick you on having the 302 just swap in a standard engine, do the test, then swap it back in. it'd be a PITA but that'd work right?
