uneven ride height

on my 83 4cyl 4x4 ranger i had to take out the whole drivers side axle beam to do some work on the diff. to put it back in i had to loosen where the radius arm bolts to the beam in order to get both the radius arm and the axle pivot bracket to line up so i could properly bolt it all back in. well after getting it all back together i noticed now that my drivers side sits 3/4" lower than the passenger side. if i didnt make that too confusing could what i did be the cause of the uneven height? if so how might i go about fixing this?

make sure all is tight and drive it around the block and check height again. Sometimes when you jack a truck up and let it down the spring and shock will keep one side higher than the other. Let the suspension cycle a couple of times and should level out. If not then it has the ranger lean.
 
Check that the coil is seated correctly in it's mounts.
Also check that there isn't any issues with the rear leaf spring on that side (cracked/broken leaves, rusted/broken mounts, etc.).

If all checks out then like said, it's probably the typical lean many of these trucks have.
A washer or two as shims under the driverside lower coil seat will level it out.
 
thanks guys. if this is a common thing then im not gonna worry too much about it. i probably never noticed it before anyway then thought to look and noticed it. im going to get an alignment soon so all should be fine right?

also, off subject but i dont want to post another thread: does anyone know what size the fuel tanks in my duel tank 83 are?
 
Rangers tend to develop a lean to the drivers side, this is due to the gas tank being on that side.

Alignment won't get rid of the lean, but the lean itself doesn't harm anything. Like I mentioned, a washer or two under the driverside coil will level it.

See these pages, and then think of one or two thin washers on one side under the stock coil seat.
