Yahnoe i dont know why there hasnt been more people putting a turbo on a 2.9l.Ive been reading turbo technics/UK makes them still u just have to talk to the guy and tell him what u want but i think that slappin on a turbo is much easier than pullin the 2.9l and puttinng a 5.0. also there kits for the 2.9 can get 200+Hp. i was reading the specs on my 5.0l 88 mustang 225hp. seems like alot of work just for that 25 extra horses not worth it to me anyways. just curious on what others think about this.

Do you mean 2.9 turbo manifolds? Because there's nothing else that the would be vehicle-specific that you'd need those guys for.

I agree that for a small gain a turbo system wouldn't be that hard to do, as far as major work goes. I plan on doing a remote t2ish setup once I fix up the (unrelated) problem areas of my truck. That should be perfect for very fast low-rpm spooling, as I'm not interested in huge pressure and dealing with tons of tuning and support parts.

Should be pretty cheap to do and easy to impliment, as it fits in with my plans of a snorkel and single stack exhaust in the same location.

Thoughts? Opinions? :D

C my buddy has a turbo i think 57mm from a 87 toyota supra and he said he would give it to me i asked how i could hook it up and he said cause i have single exhaust right where the 2 pipes come together at the Y id have to cut the exhaust make a bracket for the turbo and run the compressor side of the turbo straight to the intake(also connect the exhaust back up) he said id probably need new injectors and a new fuel pump.

i mean i really dont think u need a turbo manifold.as i recall the new corvettes have a setup like this and the turbo sits behind the rear axle

That's called a remote setup, and that's what I was talking about.

This thread should also be in the Forced Induction section, fyi. Search that section for some more info on the 2.9 turbo's that have been discussed already.
