anyone who has done valve cover gaskets which felpro gasket is the best and seals the first time? need to order by 8pm lol so HURRY! the permadry r expensive but r they worth it?

i don't know about the permadry, but rubber ones work very very well and you don't need silcone, cork gaskets work good with silicone applied

not sure just hand tight like a socket on a screw driver tight cuz if u over tighten the gasket wont seal properly cuz the flange on the valve cover warps

nope just make sure you scrape and clean the mounting surface on the top of the heads and valve covers

Silly me, I never used gaskets at all....

I made it a point on every 2.9 I owned to "upgrade" to the '89-92 valve covers
(with the "upturned" lip) and just used silicone sealant ONLY to seal the cover
to the head.
