ok so i have a 92 ho 302 stock, just intake on it and exhaust in my ranger, in my garage i have a garret t3/t4, i was wondering if possible and how hard would it be to run like a 6-8psi tune on my truck its carbed as well, safty? and help is appreciatted
 
I hope your good at tuning carbs, turboing a carb is harder than turboing and EFI, but it can be done. You can either try and locate a snout to fit over the carb intake (hard to find), or custom make your own, tee your oil pressure line for turbo feed, tap your oilpan for turbo return, custom exhaust, then extensive tuning

why do a blow through im not a fan
 
you would also need a good fuel system regulator. a pressure regulator that is boost referenced is neccesary to keep the fuel pressure in the carb constant. you need more pressure to overcome the boost pressure.
 
Check out theturboforums.com, a lot of 5.0s and a lot of blowthrough setups on there.

Not really, I just bought a basic carb hat to use on my truck (the throttle body uses a 5 1/8" base lke a carb does) on Ebay for $50, and there's plenty of nicer ones that will set you back more $$$.
 
If your running a blow through carb you have to make it air tight because all your boost pressure will bleed through all the seals for all the butterflies and you will need nitrophyl carb floats because other ones will crush. What some peope do is build a box around the whole carb to make it all the same pressure. Also a 600cfm carb will more than likely be too big for it, you will get problems like over fueling on high boost and very bad throttle response. Biggar is definitely not better when it comes to carbs and turbos and very little overlap on your cam is better too so you don't get exhaust gas reversion from the added exhaust back pressure from the turbine. Your way better off getting a fuel injection manifold from a later model 5.0L and going for aftermarket EFI that has programming in it for boost it will give you WAY more power and make it easier for starting and it should also include knock sensors that way you don't have to be worried about leaning it out at high boost pressures
