i plan to put a lock-rite in the front of my ranger and i need to know if i need manual hubs instead of automatic ones to run this locker.

When in 4x4 your vacuum hubs will lock the front wheels so I think the locker should work with them. On the other hand PVH hubs are crap so if they are a consideration in your offorad game plan go for it, I ordered a set and am looking forward to having them.

Noone gives them credit for what they are. Mine work perfectly every time. Manual hubs are more reliable but aren't necessary. You do NOT have to change to manual hubs.

my automatic hubs work perfectly and my truck has 195k on it. since i dont need to change them i wont. i wasnt sure if it would cause problems in 2wd. thanks guys!

Not saying they won't work Tom, just saying that manual is more reliable. I'm also jaded because mined just tanked.

that sucks! if one of mine broke i would probably change them to manual hubs, maybe, its nice to just turn a knob and not actually have to get out to lock em. its a toss up.

Exactly, the shitty part about manual hubs is getting stuck in something and having to get out and get dirty to lock them in.
Blue-the lock-right is an automatic locker. They unlock when cornering. Just don't romp the pedal while cornering.

pvh hubs last if you aint to ruff, just dont drop your front driveline on a rock.. they dont like it lol

well tom, since i quit driftin with my ranger because i almost flipped it, i dont stomp it down in the corners at all anymore, in 2 or 4 wheel drive. but when im offroad and im in some nasty stuff and i turn the wheel and give er hell, will the front stay locked to get me out of whatever i got myself into, im only talkin bout mud holes. givin er hell in some rocks is automotive suicide.

Ya it should do. I've heard that if you gas it on the road and it engages it will chirp the tires because they are turning together but ones turning at a slower speed than the other.

Just two out back. I'm going to look at some when I get back home. There's a dealer in the nearby town who has about 5 or 6 lined up outside.
