Last week my alternator light was working with key on and went out when running. Later the battery went dead. I pulled the alternator (internal reg) and checked the brushes, they were bad so I replaced them. No change but now the alternator light didn't work at all. Checked the 3 fusible links by the starter relay, good. Replaced the alternator, same problem. Exchanged the alternator same problem. pulled the instrument cluster and checked the bulb, it's good. Over all no charging at all. What did I miss ??? What signal or wire makes the alternator light come on ? It is a good brand rebuilt alternator but they have changed to 3 wire and got rid of the plug. The regularor still has a plug. I think they call
