maybe this is why my truck sits heavy on the left
 
Bah, that's nothing. My passenger side bucket folded straight up when I was wheeling last year sending the coil right up into my air box :icon_twisted:

I'm now running early bronco coil buckets, much beefier.
 
It looks tweaked or something on the bottom where it wraps under the frame.

If the frame is OK, just replace the bucket (replace the rivets with 7/16" bolts).

Then put proper BUMPSTOPS on that thing.

That's definitely interesting, I don't think the spring would be very happy stuffed in there at that angle if it was flexed out, lol.
 
Is it safe to use hose clamps to help hold the coils at the top? I know thats not the only thing holding it but still.

Actually...it kind of is the only thing holding it in. The tabs just keep it from sliding out during normal driving. My coils will fall out if it's flexed out enough. The hose clamp is not my first choice but it will work fine and is definitely better than nothing.
 
yeah the hose clamp was last minute, i dont plan on any heavy wheeling right now so its just a little reassurance
 
I had hose clamps on mine for 4 years without problems.

Oh, no pictures of the broken coil bucket, but I do have video of us with a generator and mig welder in the bush trying to patch it back together so I could get home. Made for a long day.
 
All of the TTB RBVs I've had, I hose clamped the coils.

Funny on each truck I didn't do it till they fell out.
 
my leafs are strait ....
 
hose clamps are fine, i run 2 on each side on mine. The tabs in back should be bent back tight against the coil. If the coil is falling out at full droop then something is not right, limiting straps or an alternative should be used.
