Hi, new member here, just acquired a 93 Ranger XLT with about 125k. Plan to use it for yard work and Home Depot trips, but currently using it as a daily commuter.

Couple of questions

Don't really have previous records for the vehicle. What should I address in terms of maintenance?

I plan to change the air/oil today.
What type of rear diff/manual transmission fluid should I use? Have zero experience with Fords, I am assuming Redline I use for BMW racecar is not appropriate :dntknw:

Thanks!

Ah, thanks.

Just noticed a coolant leak :( Looks like from the top of the radiator on the driver's side. Doesn't look like it's coming from the hose either.

Timng belt and water pump.

85-90W gear oil in the rear. Dexron ATF in the tranny.

The engine's computer will take care of that for you, 6250rpm redline.

Ah, I see.

That's a bit pricey for a truck but, it will run just fine with it.

Just finished oil/tranny/diff and ordered a replacement radiator. How much money do you think Ford saved by not putting a drain plug on the diff?

Timng belt and water pump.
Just found out from the previos owner that those were done 3 years ago at 89k miles. What's the frequency on this repair?

A '94 will have a 100K change interval.
