i got me a remington 870 12 ga. pump for cheap. has rust on the barrel but im gonna try and clean that up.

870 is a good all around gun to have. Now just het a slug barrel and you'll be set. As for the rust on the barrel, before you oil it down take a pencil and "write on" where the rust is. This will subside it and then you can oil it with no further poblems. If it is real bad it may have to be reblued.

its not to terribly bad. you can tell it hasn't been oiled in a while. im hoping some wd-40 will take it off and then i can keep it oiled real good.

use some hoppes solvent on a rag it takes all the rust off easily i use it every time i forget to get one out of the truck. im in the south so its humid as all get out and guns rust fast
