Dragging brake problem

I recently posted about my left rear drum. It is dragging and became extremely hot. I just changed the springs and shoes, but the drum does not want to go on at all. It seems to be the brake cylinder was the problem all along. Could I be right?

wheel cylinder, brake hose, e-brake cable....check em all.

Check to make sure your parking brake isnt staying engaged. I just had that problem and it turns out my parking brake doesnt fully release.

Its the parking brake. The line is seized near the back and the plate wasn't lining up with the shoe. Well at least I have new brakes now!

yea i had a 97 n had the same problem i ended up adjusting the parking brake all the way in to the point it didnt work otherwise if somone put it on it would stay stuck
