ok ive got a 2001 ranger sohc. its got a minor but annoying electrical issue i cant figure out. i pulled the stock exaust off the engine to replace the tranny put everything back together an drove/ let it idle for a while. check engine light came on. climbed under the truck ok i guessed it. o2 sensor wire not plugged up all the way. cleaned the plugs with electrical cleaner and refired the motor. still got the light cause i didnt clear the codes. now i tried a few times of unplugging the battery and letting it sit but that didnt clear them like normal. does that year computer require that the scanner clear them or will un hooking the battery not work in this case?
