I have a 2.9 an auto A4LD with an electric transfer case. What manual transfercase can i put in it and what would i need to do it if anything??:dntknw:

You can use any ranger/exploder t-case, and you would need the case, the linkage/shifter, the shifter boot, and manual hubs (if you have auto's).

As to what you'd have to do, change out the hubs (if applicable), cut a hole in the floor, and install the case and linkage/shifter. I swapped my 98 in a day, pretty easy job.

If the truck your referring to is the one in your profile you should have the BW1350 transfer case. You will want to stick with this same case of you will have to have the front driveshaft changed also.

When you go and look for the replacement look for a 1983-1989 Ranger or B2. As mentioned try and find one off a truck with the Auto tranny. Otherwise it uses a different linkage and it will not shift properly.

you dont have to have manual hubs...but they are generally more reliable than the autos.

you also dont have to cut a hole in the floor, you just need to take the trim plate under the carpet from an applicable donor vehicle (auto trans, manual t-case in your case).
