No Exterior lights

This morning when I hit the high beams all the exterior lights went out and the radio went to nothing but static. Turn signal, brake, emergency flashers, all still work. There is no power at all at the headlight switch connector. Every fuse is good. Where do I look next?

STRANGE!!!!! Same thing just happened to me. No headlights. No radio. Each fuse checks out OK.:icon_confused: And this happened YESTERDAY!

Which one of the 5 RBV's that you show are you talking about? Give us details:
Year, Model, Engine, what power options, auto or manual etc....

NEED MORE INFO!

Sorry about that. It is in my '89 BII, 2.9, 2WD, Mitsu 5spd.

I had had the high beams on several times that morning before this happened. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at all. I dimmed them for a passing car and when I went to turn the highs back on everything went dark. Forgot to say that the flash to pass funtion does still work.

Yes. Fuses all ohm out good. A couple in the interior box have no voltage to them on either end.

Engine compartment fuses all have voltage.

Checked the Chilton's manual and not sure how the radio got into this mess but the rest of it may just be the headlight switch. All the wiring for the lights goes through that. Have you added any thing that would plug into that switch? I have seen people force a jumper wire onto that switch's wiring and overload it. Course I'm no mechanic, just a parts guy but have seen some pretty wild things done to electrical systems over the years. If you have a manual look at that section of harness on a diagram and see if a fusible link is attached.

Haven't added anything to it. Switch may be bad but there is no power coming to the switch at present. Something is bad between the fuses and the switch. The switch connector is totally dead.

Use a voltage tester on that fuse plug on the box. Talked to an electrical mech and he said it's possible that location may be dead. If so you may have to re-wire to an unused location on the fuse block.
