HELP it studders and putters(out if gas like)please respond quick

when its in park it idle and runs fine when put in drive after running about 200-300 feet studders putters like out of gas then dies But then i can start it right back up it is a 2.3 , 2 wheeled drive please help very quickly it is the only car we have well 1990 ranger that is awhile back couple weeks it was missing really badly change 6 plugs out of 8 in a 4 cyc you all should no what i'm talking about please help with the cheapest way to fix i thought it might be a weak fuel pump,or maybe the oxy sensor if the ox sensor can you tell me where its at thanks Jeff
 
i would start with a new fuel filter (cheapest way first).
Then i would replace the module in the distributor second.

It could be just that the timing plug is disconnected. it looks similar to the plug in this photo, center towards the bottom and sticking out of my wire harness cover.

Yes, I know i need to clean up my motor, but i am Lazy.

if its the oxy sensor, try unplugging them and running it, They are located on the exhaust, Exahust manifold and one behind or in front of the cat. You will need to get under the vehicle to unplug the one.
