Leaf swapping

My leafs fanned out and im in need of replacing them. I got to the point where i can get to the two pins at either end of the leafs. but i dont know how to get a socket or anything in there to get it off. Will i need to run a zipcut between both of them and then pound out the bolt? i got a 94 ranger 4x4.
 
A box-end wrench always worked for me. Check that the nuts don't already have a tab on them that keep them from rotating (no wrench needed if so).
 
Hold off on cutting those bolts with a zip cut. I just did that. You will destroy the bushings and they cost about 20 bucks each to replace, plus alot of work to burn the old ones out and pound new ones in.
You do not need to remove the main leaf at all to replace all the other springs leafs below it. Just lower your axle enough to remove the pin in the centre of the leaf pack. Then stack the new leafs in, rebolt the pack together, and jack your axle back into place. I was told this about 4 hours ago from a guy at a spring shop who is going to make new leafs for my son's 94 ranger 4x4. He said leave the main leave bolted to the shackle, just separate the cracked (in my case) leafs.
