Seems to me like it's either the slave cylinder or release bearing. One some occasions, I get an awful noise from the transmission. Sounds like a bearing going out, and changes with input shaft speed. I can even feel it in the clutch pedal, and the noise changes when I push in the clutch while it is doing this. Then it goes away on it's own.
Also, I only need to use the top 2-3 inches of clutch pedal travel. I can fully engage/disengage the clutch well before I'm half way through pedal travel.
Does all this sound like the slave cylinder, or release bearing, or something else?
