All of a sudden my 2.9 Ranger 1989 does not charge. Battery -idiot-light is on .
I have installed a new alt w/reg and battery, checked all connections, checked fuse panel under hood. There is no charging coming from alt. The main wire to the battery only has whatever volts is in battery. The "I" connector shows 2.9 volts and the "A" shows 5 volts.
I tried connecting 12 V to the "I" with no change.
What am I missing?
Any ideas?
