frontend noise...

i have a 99 4x4 ranger noise started off as a scraping thought it was the brakes.Now it has turned into a humming / roaring sound. doesnt change when you put in 4wd and havnt really had it in the mud and all the tires are new

You'll have to isolate the sound some.

But I'd look at the front wheel bearings if you know it isn't brakes.

Sounds like the front wheel bearing assemblies are going. Does the noise get louder as speed increases?

well now im not sure my brother said his brakes did the same thing ... the roar might be a tire i dunno gonna switch it out tomorrow and see if it does the same
