no spark at coil??

hey, i am tring to get a 2.9l to run afer sttting for 8 months or so, and i got no spark at the coil, change coils, to one i know works, atill no spark.. i have power going to the red wire on the coil when the key is on.. change modular on the back of the distributer, nothen.. any ideas?? now one thing i should say, is the fuel pump is not kicking in either(haven't gotten that far yet) dose that have anything to do with haveing no spark?? are they "linked" together, i was told on some modles that if the fuel pump dose not kick in, it will not send out spark.

truck info: 92 ford ranger, reg cab, long boxs, 2.9l 5sped 2wd

try swapping out the eec relay (brown base)

eec?? where is that located?

The EEC relay is located below the fuse box under the hood Kris. Its the same one that i kept popping when i had that dead short in my truck. It will be the brown one. I've got a spare at work I will grab for you to try.

well we got it to run the other night, ended up bing a bad computer(water leak in the cowl), so we swaped it out and it fired right up, ran nice, was very surprised, no spoke, lifter tick, nothen.
