Hi, i wanna put a Rough Country 4'' Suspension lift on my truck (1997 ranger 4x4 4.0L). I wan't to know if i need to do some mod before installing the kit or it's a ready to install without all the problem. I know that the compagny actually redesing the kit. So please help me. I'm asking that question because one of my friend tell me that i need to change all my front universal joint and my rear shaft....i was scare....

Just asking, but how old are you or what country are you from?

The rear installation is easy since it only uses 3" lift blocks and new u-bolts. The front will require grinding off the old radius arm brackets and front axle pivots for the driver's and passenger's sides. You'll need a pitman arm puller for the gearbox/pitarm/steering, and you'll need to hook up and bleed the brake lines that are usually supplied in a compelte kit. There are plenty of directions floating around. You should get installation instructions with your suspension kit.

Here are some similar (not exact though) procedures:

gosh no

:stop:rough country is a piece of crap lift. Either buy a good lift or dont lift it at all. No articulation, it squeeks badly, and does not fit...most people call it mods....you WILL BE using a grinder all day! DO NOT BUY IT. (if you do though do not pay over 425.00 for it. BUT DONT BUY IT!:stop:
