I just bought 96 Ranger STX with the factory CD changer and the previous owner had a system in it. He took it out when I bought it and put the factory radio back in. He said that he had trouble getting all the speakers working after he put the factory back in due to the amp. Only the left rear speaker is working and the others just give a slight hum. Is this due to the amp like the previous owner said or is it something else?

Thanks in advance for any help.

well all he done if he had a amp was rewire the speakers to the amp...if he took it out then he should of spliced in the speakers back to the HU....I would just check to see where all the speare wires are going...he probably spliced them to the wrong wires.

There were no physically cut wires that I saw at the radio harness. He just opened the wire up so he could tap into it. He did this with just 4 of wires on the smaller square 16 pin connector.

I also tried to wire up an after market Pioneer deck and I got no sound whatsoever from the speakers.

well hes messed up somewhere....sounds like your gonna have to run ALL new wire and rewire the harness.

I will probably poke around with the wires trying to figure out why its not working, I would really like to keep it all factory if at all possible.

you could keep it factory. Post pics of the harness so we can even see if all the wires are even there.
