Hey TRS'ers,
Anyone seen this before?
Temp gauge in my '96 Ranger 4.0 will slowly hunt up
and down while running at steady speed. Goes up to about
2/3 way then down to about 1/4 scale. Repeats the cycle
every three - four minutes.
While this is going on the engine seems to runs the same
and no other gauges change readings.
There are NO leaks. Never have to add coolant.
Tried bleeding any air out of the system. (several times)
Replaced old radiator cap, tried another thermostat.
Checked wiring and tried a different temp sending unit.
About the only thing left is the gauge itself.
