got a 83 ranger 4x4.manual trans, rite now im doing a cab swap, and replacing hole front end. have to replace front seal on trans, and other stuff.
the 2.8 i had in it died, to much to rebuild. i got a truck 4 parts, the 2.8 in it runs, but its getting tired, so ive been thinking of a 4.0 swap from a explorer.
i was told that i just need the bell housing and motor mounts from that explorer i get the motor from, was told that the 4.0 mounts bolt rite up, just have to re drill 2 holes,dont have to buy a swap kit, and that 4.0 stock exhuast manifolds fit and dont interfere with steering column.
i can get a 4.0 pretty cheap with all wiring and bell housing pretty cheap, so if it all "bolts rite up " with " little modifications" ill just do the 4.0 swap while i got the cab and everything off. does anyone have any pics of a arnager during the 4.0 swap??
